Our High Field Open Unit offers the ability to perform most MRI procedures on the claustrophobic and oversized patients. Southwest Hospitals High Field Open Bore has raised the roof with more room for more people.  Our patient’s will experience a spacious one foot of headroom.  No longer will patients feel like they’re nose-to-nose with the ceiling.  This is something that may be experienced with most “Open” MRI’s in the market today.  Our remarkably short four foot magnet will greatly reduce claustrophobia and anxiety.  Also, we can accommodate a patient up to 450 lbs.  We encourage patients to bring a family member or friend into the exam room during the procedure for support.
