Patient Appointment

• Be careful to follow any instructions given to you about eating, drinking or taking medication. If you are having a scan of your abdomen or pelvis, it is helpful not to eat or drink four hours prior. Normally, you can stay on any medications you are taking.

•  Please don't forget to bring any previous MRI or CT exams, so that we may compare your current exam to your previous exam.  This is important for our radiologist to give the most accurate diagnosis.

• It is possible to bring a family member of friend into the exam room for support. Provided this individual passes the MRI screening form and is MRI safe. Parents may remain with children during the exam in most cases. 

• We will need you to provide us with all of your health insurance information ahead of time. Please don't forget to bring your insurance card on the day of your exam.

• We will need you to remove anything made of metal. Also, please tell us if you have any implants with metal components.  
  
  
• Patients with cardiac pacemakers or other implanted electronic devices cannot be scanned.

• On the day of the exam we suggest you wear the most comfortable clothing.  Please remember anything with metal can not go into the exam room.
